Former Central High School Of Phenix City, Head Football coach Jeremy Dubose resigned a week ago and 3 days later, Pinson Valley's Patrick Nix, Father of Auburn quarterback Bo Nix, was hired as the new Central High Football Coach.
Met with football players the end of last week and indicated a new sheriff was in town and those with bad attitudes and caused trouble at school or away from school would be given one chance to tow the line or go find another sport or school to play with.

I was unaware that Coach Nix had a younger son, Caleb. He has a long row to hoe if he thinks he's going to beat returning Junior Trey Miles as QB. Trey is the real deal who has stood out as far back as the 8th grade.

Trey is the real deal who has stood out as far back as the 8th grade. I don't know Nix or if he has integrity but all the coaches kids I played with didn't have to beat anyone out. They always were given the position regardless.

He was but most of these know it all will tell you different and how coaches play there sons first I said I didn't know Nix and if that's something he'd do but you're naive if you don't think Daddy ball exist at every level and in every sport. I started every game of every sport I ever played so I have no personal vendetta to pick but I've seen daddy ball in every sport I played, too. I've seen kids start at QB, Pitch and play basketball that there is zero chance they'd have ever seen the field if their father hadn't been the coach. I've even seen it at the college level with Tubby Smith.

Keep in mind sometimes the coaches son might not be the best player but might be the smartest player instead. I saw daddy ball all through high school. We won more than we lost though as a result.
I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

If he was second string at Pinson last year, it is hard to believe he can step in and take the QB job from a player who has been the Duel starting quarterback (just how Dubose structured the Offense) for Central the last two years.

If he was good enough, there would have been a 1 quarterback system. I’ve never watched any of them play, though.

One was a running quarterback who also could pass and the other was a passing quarterback who could also run but not as quickly or as fast as the other. Whom ever was hot got the majority of the snaps. But they both played.

Daddyball is still alive and well fellas. I saw a coach's son get over half the passes thrown to him last year, maybe 75%. He had exactly one completion, he dropped it untouched right before he got across the goalline. It was painfully obvious the boy isnt a receiver. Had several other receivers who could catch but they just kept throwing it to coach's boy. Absolutely blew my mind. He was the open receiver so that is who the QB was supposed to throw to. Apparently it is no coincidence that he was left open.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
