You want the world governments to address an actual pandemic??
Lets deal with cell phones. Let's quarantine anyone using a cell phone in motion.
Let's make a global law requiring all cell phones companies to disable phones in motion.
I mean totally inoperable, walking pace or above, completely totally inoperable unless absolutely motionless.
That's a real step towards addressing the worst pandemic this world has ever seen.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

I would prefer if it were legal to run azzholes who text and drive off the road into a ditch. Then go down and beat the chit out of them.

Texting and driving really pizzes me off. Cops should pull them over and go Rodney King on their azzes on the side of the road so everyone can see the punishment for texting and driving.

I think an app that turns off phones while vehicle is running would be great safety factor.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

It amazes me at the % of phone lookers in random public places.
Imagine life from another universe watching us.
They be like WTH? are they looking at?

Once saw a guy walking into Home Depot looking at his phone.
Truck driving by the front door with a Ladder sticking out the back.
Apparently phone looker saw the truck but not the ladder.
Walked right into it at a full pace. Laid him out with a bloody forehead.
I tried not to laugh.

My co-workers are obsessed with their phones. Think I'm an IDOT
because I'm not. I don't get the obsession.

Hate to tell you, but it isn't the phones. Sure they contribute, but they're just the tool of inconsiderate drivers. Parts of this country just have bigger problems. You'd be amazed at how much better it gets north of I-40. And 2/3 of the crazies on 20 and 65 have Georgia plates. My wife has threatened to move many times based on driving alone.

My son's kindergarten teacher informed us at our meeting that he wanted to move back to Missouri cause nobody in GA knows how to drive. We are just making friends everywhere 😃.

C'mon. Cell phones while driving are a massive problem everywhere. You can't generalize about entire states, that's silly. You don't think they text while driving in St. Louis or Peoria, Illinois?

I always chuckle when folks talk about [insert city/town] has the worst drivers.......I got news for everyone, drivers everywhere suck.

Honestly, I think it is more of an urban/rural divide. But, absolutely I can tell you the Average driver is way worse and more inconsiderate in Nashville, Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Atlanta than in STL, KC, Peoria, and Indianapolis. Heck, the 4 way stop is a thing of mystery in GA. The south does many things well, but overall driving is not one of them.

Good for you, but that just tells me you haven't lived very many places or had to travel extensively by car. I can say with 100% confidence that there are bad drivers everywhere but also that certain cities and regions are way worse than others. Heck, the 4 way stop is still a mystery in parts of GA.

That's the Achilles heel of that strategy.

No its not. Most of us grew up without cell phones. Anyone can live without a cell phone.
You can damn sure survive a road trip.

Then my wife would have to talk to me in the car. And it would lessen my control of the radio. Not sure I like this plan.

Though, we usually don't allow our kids electronics in the car, so I guess she would just read a book and not talk to me anyway.

Just about half the people I pass on the road are looking down at their phones. Getting fairly retarded

During my recent visit to Spain Rehab, my wife and I decided to get lunch between tests. Going on the main corridor between Spain and the North Pavilion, we noticed that at least 75% of the crowds in corridor had their cell phones to their ears or either texting and walking. At one point I had to serve in my wheelchair to keep a woman from walking into my lap, we also noticed another with a cell phone in each hand. That corridor is used as part of an indoor walking track for people on their lunch hour so traffic is not done at a leisurely pace. I like the motion sensor

If I ever become supreme dictator, first thing I'm doing is making it a life sentence for anyone that microwaves fish in an office kitchen, or anyone that cooks bacon in an office kitchen without bringing enough for everyone.

You can damn sure survive a road trip.

I'm going out on a limb here and guess your vehicle isn't bluetooth equipped.

Two of them are, but I wouldn't know how to use it.
Plus that doesn't solve the problem, it's the distraction and inattention, caused by the phone. Hands free makes little, if any, difference.

Walking with a cell phone is almost as bad as driving. Maybe not as dangerous but still extremely rude and selfish.
That's why it's prohibited on all military bases. I guarantee you that if you're walking around Camp Lejeune, distracted by a cell phone, those MPs will be happy to give you a lesson in etiquette.

Pretty soon it'll all be implants anyway, so you wont have to worry. Then when the "Senior Alert!" comes across the TV we will all feel better knowing where they died.😁

I can drive and talk on the blue tooth just fine. Spend many miles on trips talking to friends and family safely driving down the road. Don’t need big brother to tell me I can’t.

I would think a law that requires cell phones to be inoperable if moving above a certain pace let’s say 5mph unless you have some sort of special need like a paramedic or something would save a lot of lives. Or at least make the penalty the same as an DUI.

If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

If it could somehow distinguish between the driver and passengers, sure.....but to my knowledge that technology doesn't exist so you'll never see it happen.

There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

1. All Politicians Are Liars
2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement
3. Taxation Is Theft
