Were/are they good guns? I know some of the older .410s are pretty sought after.

This may sound crazy & I may be wrong but seems like I remember reading that 37A's were made in canada. I have a regular old 37 in 12 ga & as far as I'm concerned any model 37 is a good gun.

I love old 37's. A lot of the older fellers around here that use to go to a lot of turkey shoots used them. Seems like no other older shotguns would hold a pattern like the 37's would. I have heard several of the older guys say to never, ever under any circumstance shoot buckshot thru a full choked 37. that would probly be most of em. Some of their family members had borrowed the guns & had shot it thru em. they said the guns never shot the same after buckshot. I doubt that would matter on a 410 with such a small bore. Because of these old timers talking about the buckshot deal- I'd never shoot buckshot thru any make of older single shot guns that were full choke. Wouldn't matter i guess on a newer gun with screw chokes-start getting bad patterns just get a new one. Just thought I'd add that for a talking point.

Thank you for the response and guidance. The bore on this 410 is not scored at all so, I will heed the advise and never shoot buckshot through it. I was also given a model 1200 winchoke with all original chokes, Allen wrench and manual as well. It’s almost mint minus one scratch on the stock. I’m feeling pretty lucky right about now

37A is a good gun and probably more available than the highly prized Model 37. Love my Model 37s in 410.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
