He makes some good stuff but it is not the cheapest place around. I have some boudin made there every year, and bacon down the road at Chops.

It has been my experience that it can go bad if frozen over six months. If I remember correctly it was due to the cheese in it. Others might have a different opinion. That sure looks good and well prepared.

I like Jiffy cornbread.

I would not pay $5 for that entire cooler. It's about like bologna imo.

It cost me less than $1.00 per pound to make my own. Basically the cost of the spices and casings. Other than cubing or grinding, it's the single easiest specialty product to make at home.

Pricey stuff but oh so good.

On a side note, I heard that Hunter's Gold stopped taking all deer unless it was quartered and in a cooler. I heard that they had been stopped by the gov't on using their dump site for guts, hides and other deer waste.

Fella that was telling me about it was a long time customer and he said that he has found someplace else to take his deer now.

Is there any truth to that?

Not many folks that I know that take a deer to a processor are gonna gut, skin, and quarter it themselves. If you do that much you may as well go on and do the processing yourself.

If that is the truth, I can see that place losing a majority of their business.

I always skin, gut and quarter a deer before I take it to the processor. I want to cool the meat as quickly as possible.

Adrian is he’s to beat when it comes to a processor and good food. Little pricey but well worth it.

A little salt and pepper and some franks hot sauce would go a long way with that.
