What cleaners/lubricants do you use? I typically use a bore cleaner & remington oil but there must be a better way.

Cleaner hoppes 9 sweet 7.62(follow directions!) Lubes breakfree clp Lucas gun oil and I have used 10w30 greases lithium frog lube pretty much anything. Butch's bore shine is good. Kroil mixed with shooters choice mc7 is the go to for really filthy.
Only hits count.

Slip 2000 cleaner for actions and carbon. Hoppes, or any other repeatable bore cleaner, formulated to cut copper, lead, or plastic.....whichever is your barrel issue. Take your CLP and Rem Oil to the burn pit for fire starter, or to spray on your bush hog. Get some Slip 2000, other quality LUBRICANT for your firearm and use that where appropriate. Have grease where appropriate. If you want dry lubricant and rust protection, eezox is hard to beat. Actually, CLP isn’t bad as a preservative, but you’ll need to clean before uses, usually. Mobile 1 and synthetic refrigeration oil are as good as most stuff out there, and ATF cleans well. Lucas, Marvels, whatever. Is not rocket science, but there’s a lot of confusion by the marketing sometimes. CLP and others like it, can’t do anything great. A lubricant that cleans, also carries crud to everywhere it needs to flow as a lubricant. If it flows as a lubricant, and cuts impurities as a cleaner, it doesn’t stay on the metal as a protectant......at least as people try to uses them. Use them in steps and sages, and they do okay.

In before someone says Buckeye Blue, which has been unavailable for purchase for years now. Must not have been as good as advertised here after all.
Personally, I prefer Lucas Gun Oil.

Hoppes 9, Shooters Choice copper solvent and Bore Tech Eliminator for cleaning. Mainly just use the Eliminator and let is sit in the barrel for an hour then clean it out with dry patches.
Eezox is the lubricant I like.
Rem oil is crap. Throw it away. Terrible rust preventative and the Teflon component can cause accuracy to degrade. Only way to clean it out is Kroil an JB Paste with elbow grease.

My brother is my favorite gun cleaner. He can break down a semi auto pistol in nothing flat. If I could just get him to say “Done, drill sergeant.”

Do you mind if I piggy back off this and ask, "What do you all use to clean your rifles with after a hunt so you don't have all the oil smell for deer?"

I make my own bore cleaner and have been for years cost me less than 20 bucks to make a gallon and works great as a lubricant also You are an interesting feller. And I mean that sincerely, cause I would never tease a man that makes gun solvent and lubricant by the gallon.

Make it slick as a minnners goober I'll say this about it I had a good friend that was deployed to the sandbox and asked for a "care package" and he said it's the only thing they found to clean weapons with that wouldn't attract the dust over there they went through a lot of it Spill the beans!
