Anyone planning on checking out the boat show this weekend in Birmingham?? I go every year just to wander and look at the new boats. Seems like there are less fishing boats each year but I still enjoy it. Ill be up there Saturday morning.

The whole fam jam went last year and they didn't have many fishing boats to look at nor fishing equipment. That was the whole reason we went and it turned out to be a bust just a bunch of leaser and ski boats. It was the first year I had gone, but everyone said it was the worst show they had ever had.

Come to Mobile the first weekend in March. It'll be the opposite. Almost all fishing boats. Hardly any pleasure or ski boats other than overpriced pontoons. Most of the fishing boats will be salt water stuff though. A few aluminum river boats with spray in bedliner coatings instead of carpet. Almost no fiberglass bass boats.

I'm going tomorrow at 12 to look at a bunch of stuff I can't afford. I like to see the pontoons and see how fast they get up to.

Bennington has a new toon out that is actually a bowrider. The center toon is actually designed in a "V". The front lounge area is recessed down into the center toon. It's really cool. I went to the Huntsville show last weekend and saw it. Taking the wife to look at them in Bham this weekend.

That show used to be absolutely awesome when I was growing up. You used to could LOAD UP on lures, rods, reels etc on the last day. The good ole interwebs, have just about killed trade shows.

Yea I remember going and guys would be walking always with 8-10 rods and bags of lures. That was back when Marks and The Fishing Hole were there.

I went last year and there was very little fishing gear.
