Nuttall Oak's are by far my favorite. Nice size acorns and some drop really late.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Killed a few good bucks on public land in MS under Shumard Oaks.

Just put a few in pots and transplanted a few I dug up. They do drop late and heavy. Several trees at work are still loaded with acorns right now.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Joe rake them up and dump them in your hunting spot. My bucks eat them before they really mess with the corn.

Google says they don't produce until 25yrs of age. That's a long time to wait to hunt over an oak tree. The heck with that then!

They produce a LOT younger than that. Very pretty fall trees also. I thought that was the case as there is no way that some of the trees that I've seen dropping in parking lots could be 25 years old. But everything I read said 25yrs. Maybe I was looking at the wrong info.

IIRC, they produce the most BTU's of heat of any tree when burned.

They were HOT deer magnets this year where I hunt. We didn't have any white oaks so the deer flocked to them. Killed a few does under them.
