Ordered a Jim Kibler Colonial flinter kit. I've made selfbows outta osage and hickory logs, but decided to let a smith that knows what he's doing handle putting it together for me. I just dont trust myself with a very nice kit like this. I can't wait to make smoke with it!

Congratulations,I’ve read they’re dang near drop in but I understand being nervous. I’ve got a cracked tc stock to replace to work on the woodwork part,and an old single shot I’m gonna clean up and brown the barrel. If all goes well I’ll be ready for a kit. The wood wouldn’t be a problem for me but things like browning or case hardening I have zero experience.

X2 with treating the metal. I dont have any kind if vice to hold stuff steady while working on it either.... nor the fancy gouges and files he uses.
