Two years ago a buddy and I did some hog hunting in the lower delta (raft river area) via boat. Had a blast. He is and his dad are heading down in a few weeks. Any advice, water levels, etc. A lot can change in 2 years

Don’t expect the same hog population as 2 years ago. High water has worked on them the las two years. Good luck and be careful if hunting by boat.

You aint lyin. Every time I get chance to go the whole place is under 4ft. of water.

Not much land right now jmudler. Lower delta will be ok, but they won’t be able to hunt much above 65.

I keep this in my favorites.
Hope to get in there at least during Turkey season.
But not for Turkey.

I’ve been going around tryin to find some as of late. Few friends have hunted bayou Sara and tons of WMA, lots
Of walking and some still hunting. We have seen plenty of sign but haven’t had any luck.

Same here, I'm beginning to doubt the "hog infestations" everybody talks about.

A few years ago you couldn’t go to the delta with out seeing hogs. The high water has wiped out hundreds of hogs the last couple years and couple that with the growing popularity of shooting them from boats the Numbers are down big time

Another rain even coming, I'm gonna look elsewhere for hogs. May be quite a while
before the UD dries out.

I always hunt the high ground during this time. They get pushed easily.

This flood happening now is sure enough wrecking havoc on all sort of critters in the Delta. My brother and a friend of his went to check on friends camphouse near Gravine Island and saw 2 pigs standing on floating grass/log mats floating down the river. Probably made it to the bay by now LOL.

Hopefully by Turkey Season its back to normal.
Course it will take 4ever for the hogs to get back in there.

I think the hogs on the logs were in Coffeeville and the camp was in sunflower.

Dang. Yeah that Ol' creek was mighty close to the houses on 43 (across from Hawthorne rd) when i headed up to camp Friday

I’m sure most of them died any way but the good ole state of Alabama doesn’t allow the killing of game animals when the land is flooded. Must be 40 acres above water to be legal

Heard about 30 citations were given for that recently on the UD.
