After Deer season is over I want to give this type of hunting a try. I was wondering what tactics do you guys use for hunting them on public land? I've also been thinking about purchasing a FoxPro.

I recently bought a FoxPro Inferno and Foxjack decoy that works with it.
I'm doing the same, thought I haven't been able to get out much.
Doing it on WMA's on non deer hunt days. Going in the AM actually.
Plan on hunting through April this way.

Stob, did you get to go and how did the FoxPro work out?

Only thing I called up was a Red Tailed Hawk, landed on a limb about 6ft. from the
decoy looking like WTH???? And finally decided he didn't want to tangle with it
and flew off.
Did see a fairly nice buck I could have killed with the #2 Hevi Shot at about 15 yards.
I about stepped on him bedded down at about 10 yards. He blew at me and hopped
about 5 yards, turned around and looked at me. Very Tempting but was on a WMA
non deer hunt day.
Too warm for me, Skeeters was eating me up. Should have carried the Thermacell.

Tough to think about taking a Thermacell in January but nowadays it's almost a must-have deal all the time. Sounds like a cool buck encounter!
