Is there a specific choke tube that any of you recommend? Currently using the modified choke that came with my gun. Decent results when patterning but I definitely think I could find something better. Read a lot of mixed reviews online so was just trying to get some opinions.

I bought the Carlsons waterfowl 3pk that has a close, mid and long range for my Remington 11-87 and for my Benelli SN and they are much improved over the factory chokes

This year I am shooting an improved cylinder. My shooting is better on the ducks I SHOULD kill. Just punted on trying anything past 40. If you truly want a pass shooting choke then my Rob Roberts throws a very tight pattern. Problem is you will destroy teal in the decoys or completely miss them.

The mod should be fine if you can manage to get your birds to decoy. My 11-87 patterns similar to a light full or full with steel shot vs lead in the same size. I use factory rem chokes. I've hunted and patterned a full choke on that gun, and it'll reach on out there, but I'd rather work the birds than make long shots.

That's what I typically use. I have mille birds beyond 40 yes with a IC. I've used tighter chokes that look good on the pattern board but in real world use come up shy.

Trulocks have always patterned well for me in SBEs and A5s.
I'm shooting an IC Rhino right now and having great results on the board and real world shooting. They had to custom make it from an older design I liked.

I've shot a lot of different chokes from Terrors, Kicks, Carlson, Pattern Masters and others. They're all about the same in the real world as long as you match them up with correct shot sizes and fps. Things really change once you pass the1550 fps threshold.

I can't remember shooting anything less than 1550 fps for at least 25 years but one fact remains....the choke is insignificant if you can't point the gun at the bird!!!

I know I'm old school...don't own an aftermarket choke even...most that want guns to shoot further and tighter lack the skill to get the game to where you can see their eyes! try that sometime...ducks, geese, turkeys...all will be close and killable without any super gun or super shot.
