I bought some burr oaks from mossy oak to plant at my place, from what i read they grow huge and have lots of production and the deer stay on them, has anyone on here saw them or hunted over them? It seems they are mostly in the swamps of Miss. But can grow elsewhere, just would like a little feedback. I also bought some cherrybark oak any thoughts on those

I got two free cherrybark oak seedlings at the buckmaster expo a couple years ago. They have grown very fast so far and a really good looking trees. Haven't started producing anything yet so I'll have to wait and see on that.

I have some Burr Oaks from The Wildlife Group that started producing around 7 years. Not a ton of production but I haven't kept the weeds back like I should. They don't stay on the ground long enough to tell what's eating them between the deer and hogs.

The Burr Oaks on campus at Auburn are what prompted me to try them. They produce lots of huge acorns.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...
