Dollar Hide is an old club. I believe Bear Bryant hunted there.
He did. How would one know that it is the oldest club in the state?... or is that just something they claim in an effort to feel superior? They don't do it to feel superior. It's the or one of the oldest. I'd say it's probably in the top three or five oldest. I know of two around here that have incorporation papers and/or ownership dating to the late 1800s.

I read that story and would love to just tour that place. It sounds like an awesome environment to be a part of. Same here

the club, thru very influential members, got a law passed exempting them from paying any property taxes. Pisses the powers in Greene Co off something terrible.

I've always found it interesting that the club owns the land and when you join you are not paying for a membership per se, but you are buying a portion of the club and own a stake in it.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I think the best part is no females in the camp house if you are a wife bringer you have to stay at the love nest down the road.

Grew up hunting in a club across the river in Hale county from Dollarhide. They used to run dogs back then, don't know if they still do. They did a lot of duck hunting on that club also.

I hunted Dixon Mills Club back in late 60's, lots of deer there then.
