Took a call from a buddy of mine he shot one about 160 yds down a road bed with a 270 had a good bit of hair and blood at the hit site. Put rooster on it and away we went down the side of a ridge following pretty good blood for about 50 yards. When I quit seeing blood I was about ready to bring him back and restart him I was sorta thinking he missed a turn and about 75 yards later he stuck his nose up her hind end when he found her. Total distance from the hit to recovery on the Garmin was 150 yds.Hunter said he thought it might be a tad back on the shot and blood confirmed some gut was involved. After we found her we figured out why the blood stopped some of the gut was plugging the hole and they wasn't much coming out. Deer was slightly quartered to him and he got the back of one lung liver and front of the stomach. Dog worked real good he's got some puppy in him still but he's growing out of it.
