this thread is an addendum to the one below on combo of light weight and comfort. i'm 68 and in almost decent shape. 6-0, 190 pounds, and in process of losing down to 180. recovering well from open heart surgery two years ago. i'm able to walk for miles. i generally hunt my son's place, never more 600 yards from his house. anyhow, any of you older guys still climb? and if so, what do you use? any of you still used a hand climber? wondering about core strength, but i can build on it. a sit down climber wouldn't be an issue as long as it's light - and i go slowly.

I'm 51 with bad knees and bad shoulders and ate up with arthritis. I try to climb on the ol lady once in a while but that's about all of my climbing.

What hurts me, worse than climbing, is sitting for a while. After I sit in any kind of stand for a couple of hours, it hurts like hell to stand up. Sometimes it takes a half hour to get moving again.

I'm 57 and still climb some but not as much as I used to do.
I bought a new Summit Goliath a year ago.
I really like it.
Climbs quiet and is comfortable to sit in.

Climbs quiet and is comfortable to sit in. Cuz, Im 52 and have couple Goliaths. They are comfortable for sure. My favorite comfort climber is hands down the Gunslinger. It's like sitting in a dang recliner with you facing the tree. So before you take a shot, you can lean forward and hold the gun next to the tree and hopefully make a better.

What hurts me, worse than climbing, is sitting for a while. After I sit in any kind of stand for a couple of hours, it hurts like hell to stand up. Sometimes it takes a half hour to get moving again. While I’m not quite as old as some of you fellers.. I have the same problem.. from diabetes and bad neuropathy and arthritis as well as a Venus return problem and circulation issues.. also screws everywhere in my knee and hand with most being from a tree stand accident in 93’.. my body ain’t worth a crap.. I’ve been trying to sit for 3hrs but it’s rough sometimes..I mainly use blinds and houses and will climb a ladder stand sometimes.. I haven’t had a climber since my old API but have been thinking about a Goliath just not sure I would use it.
