Just reset the trap in the middle of the dug out circle and walk away. I was skeptical of it too at first until I came back 3 days in a row to find a yote in the same trap. There's just so much scent there that the next yote cant help but to sniff around and check it out. They will also come looking for their mates. You can also add a second trap offset toward the side of the circle just to help give them an additional place to get caught

What does this mean. I’m still a newbie trapper.

Drags are basically a steel Tee with points that dig and are usually on 8-10 foot of chain. You can pre-hook to a tree or bush and likely he'll be laying there waiting on you. Makes setting and pulling traps faster. A lot of folks that run drags have a dog to help with recovery, especially if not hooking it to a tree first.

So you either pre secure it, or they drag it and it self anchors in the ground or on an object? About right?

Yes the points will dig in fouling the drag. If wrapped around a tree they may not go anywhere. In a heavy grazed pasture they may make it to the woods before hanging but the drag Mark's should be easy to follow. I have 6-8 traps on drags with chain to do a dozen more. Just need to make or buy more.

So far I've caught a bobcat and a coon on drags. Neither were out of site of the set. A lot less work on the remake too.
