As of this year, I'm done with Chinese trail cams but I did want to share some things I learned that may help you.

Chinese cams end of life is 2-3 years. Very rare they make it past that but I do have some that are on their 4th year, doubt they make it to Feb.

YOU CAN UP YOUR WARRANTY TO 3 YEARS !! How ? If you can find the camera you want on Walmart.com, at the end of the purchase you can add another 2 years to the warranty for another $23 each. I did this 2 years ago on some cams I bought and filed a claim this year. They gave me a refund for the complete purchase price, tax, the cam was 22 months old. The company is Square Trade and they were very easy to deal with, took me about 3 weeks to get a check in the mail from start of claim process, never had to turn in the broke cam, just send them serial #. All of it was online and communication was by email.

Cams will last longer if you take them out of the woods after hunting season, remove batts and store in house. I put my cams out in Aug and pull out by end of Feb. Those I left in woods all year long almost certainly died before next year for me.

www.trailcampro.com is an excellent source for picking the cam you want. They test every cam extensively and post results. If the cam you are looking for is not on their site, its because its crap and they tell you that on their website. Trusting "Buck Slayer of the woods" on aldeer to tell you this camera is great may cost you $150 dollars 12 months and 1 day later for a cam that pissed you off the whole time you had it.

It will take me a while to rebuild my inventory purchasing the Reconyx cams for $400 each but in the end I cant see how I can go wrong. 5 year warranty, avg repair cost $25, proven great cam.

That's it and no offense to "Buck Slayer of the woods" if there is a screen name of such.

What kind of cameras are you using? I'm having good luck so far with the $35 (which includes a 3-yr warranty) tasco camera from walmart. Unless you want a cell cam, I don't see how you can go wrong with these. If they die in 3yrs or less, they just replace it.......and if it dies somewhere in year 4, well, you've gotten way more than your money's worth.

3. Taxation Is Theft

I've got a number of different ones. Browning 850, Browning Dark Ops, Bushnell Aggressor (the worst) and Bushnell E2 (best cam they made).
