Try a different bait My go to bait is Surfin & Turfin dry cat food and works very well BOFF gave some good advice a while back...he suggested using cheap sandwich bags over the trap in case it rains

I'd offer some tips, but lately I can't buy a coon. Although I am in some less than prime territory for coons. Picking up a few in coyote sets but nothing in DP's. I put some shrimp in the bottom of a couple and even the possums aren't visiting.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

If you get a soup can, and punch about 8 or 10 holes in the side. It should slide over your DP and protect it from rain. The smell will easily I through the holes and the coon will pull it right off.
