I would choose tc over axis...not sure about predator I've had a patriot that shot good and i liked but I didn't need it I got it on trade n traded it off..i would also look at the ruger American if your looking at these

I 2nd what jb20 said. Best low price rifle out there is the Ruger American.

Today's Mossbergs aren't like those of even 10 years ago. They're better in quality thanks to an overhaul of everything by the company starting about 6-7 years ago. So anyone spouting the "Mossberg sucks!" without putting one of the new ones through its paces is just going by old history.
The Patriot is a fine rifle, as is the Ruger American. Have shot both and with a good optic and the right ammo, they're solid. Another you may want to consider is the Savage 110 Apex Predator XP, which comes in a combo with a Vortex scope for about $750 or less. It's versatile enough for more than coyotes. I'd consider one in .270 for versatility with coyotes, hogs and deer along with ease of finding ammo anywhere.
Might want to check pawn shops for a used one or a beater rifle that's not in terrible condition but works, if you're only going to use it a few times a year.
