All that really matters is that awburn fans are really happy to go 9-3, 8-4 every year and occasionally beat Bama. So congrats on a very successful season I don't think AU fans are satisfied with 9-3 or 8-4 and beating Bama every now and then. The idiots that renew Gus's contracts are though.

Nope, I'm not satisfied at all with where the program is now or the future outlook. I was disappointed that fans thought the victory last night was worthy of rushing the field. Winning that game was the difference between finishing 5-3 and 4-4 in conference play, and that damn sure ain't what I want our program to celebrate.

FWIW, I have a friend and former Chief that went to be the chief at Northport for many years. He said that Saban invited he and the other local chiefs and sheriffs to his house for supper one night. He says, surprisingly to me, that Saban was a very cordial and engaging person. Not at all what you would expect. I guess he can turn on the charm when needed, especially with recruits.
The whole purpose of the meeting was clear, but not explicit. Saban wanted to be the first to know when one of the players got arrested and it would be appreciated if they would let him handle the discipline. Depending on the infraction, this will do more for the kid than any judge so I have no issue with it, morally. I know Coach Dye had the same arrangement in his time at AU and what his players went through when they got in trouble was worse than anything the municipal jail had for them. I could see half the stadium from my first apartment at AU and saw several of the boneheads running stadiums wearing gloves and toting cement blocks. Some of y'all might remember the Wishbone Fullback, Ron "BBQ" O'Neil. Looked like a bowling ball with little short legs. No surprise that he only lasted a football season before grades and everything else told him college wasn't his future. As proof AU didn't buy recruits cars, BBQ had a 60's model piece of junk that he drove. He decided he wanted blacked out windows on it, so a trip to WalMart for a few cans of black spray paint later, he had his windows. That got him some stadiums and a very cold ride in Winter since the windows had to be down in order to see anything..
Also, Chief Green also thought it is odd that a man refers to his wife as Miss Terry all the time, which he even does at home. Somewhere deep down there is an issue with that and it would take some deep therapy to figure it out.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Don't discount Gus going to Arkansas, even with the win. Anyone who believes Auburn would demand all $7 million he would owe is dreaming.
At this point, that might be the best thing for him and AU. The constant unsettledness is becoming too much of a distraction every year. I don't know of an established coach that is a realistic replacement that could do better in the SEC right now, so AU would have to just roll the dice on a young up and comer. This usually doesn't work out in the SEC, but it might. That is how Dye came to AU so it can work, but that is also how they got Barfield.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Jawbone, I walked through the parking lot at Sewell Hall on my way to classes when I was at Auburn. Ain't no way all of those players could afford those rides without help. No POS jalopies in that lot.

Saban not a saint but gus acts a fool also never have i saw gus get onto his players for a penalty Since 2009 we have lost 2 regular season games how teams in the country can say that. And by the way we do get to see what it is like being a barner by not going to the playoffs
You lost three in 2010. Your post rambles so much it's hard to read. Gus gets on his players but mostly lets the other coaches get on players. Sorry Saban can't count and it's unfair he can't.

I think that would be classified as a "term of endearment" for someone you love and is perfectly normal. ... Now totally psyching our every field goal kicker that you have ever recruited is not normal.

They have names and that is how they are normally introduced. I don't have to be Dr. Phil to know that, although I bet I've probably had as many psych classes, or close to it, as Dr. Phil.
