For a really good mail order option, call Calhoun Country Hams in Alexandria VA. I wish there was a local place to find a good cured ham but I'm not aware of any.

The only place I know is Smith’s farms in Cullman. I looked at their website. They sure have some delicious looking smoked hams, but I didn't see a cured ham on their menu.

You could make your own salt-cured ham and have it ready for next Thanksgiving. https://www.pubs.ext.vt.edu/458/458-223/458-223.html

I’d love to have a smoke/cure house, and one day I will. I’d really like to get into cheeses, sausages and other cured foods. But, after reading that entire process, $75 for a ham doesn’t sound so bad anymore.

$75.00 is a pretty good bargain. I've seen 15-18 pound cured hams sell for nearly $200.00 Theres a place in Kentucky who advertised "free range hams" aged more than one year, for $229.0
