The wind is howling and that makes lake Guntersville a beast. I still think I'ma gonna go this afternoon or not. LOL

No none of you were. I had the whole lake to myself. LOL I caught a crappie on the 2nd cast, broke off on the hook set on the next cast, then only caught one more. It was so windy I sat backwards on the edge of the front deck and fished. I didn't even want to risk getting up on the deck to get in the seat. White caps galore... I can cast 6 miles with the 2lb test but I think I'm going back to 4lb test.

I’m wanting to try my hand at crappie. Do I gotta use 4 or can I get away with 6? My usual spinning line is 8.

4 is what I been using and it is stronger than you think but I am not gonna try anything lighter. In some cases I even use 6-8 all hiviz. When you get in some big fish they really mess up the 4.

I use 6lb test pline. Used to always use 4lb stren. I cant tell much if any difference. Going down to 2lb feels like fishing with a hair.

I typically use 4 lb gold Stren. 6 lb is too stiff for my tastes. IMO you gotta use a hi-vis line. Most crappie bites are seen, not felt. I agree about the 2 lb, it's like fishing with hair or sewing thread.

4lb Mr Crappie in hi vis is what I use. Sometimes I would see him on Lake Lewisville and Ray Roberts. Since I was fishing with his Wally Marshall "Mr Crappie" rods he would toss me some freebies from time to time. Nice guy, but wouldn't tolerate pot lickers.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Guess it is a Texas term. When you see a guide or pro (or anyone catching lots of fish) and you way point their location.

That’s kinda what BCLC said.
