Brady is about to make $1.5 million because they're renegotiating his contract to keep him at LSU. Has been in the works for weeks.

I'm not sure who you hire. But I simply can't comprehend the likely $5-8 million salary. There's not a guy that'll do it for $2 million? There are plenty that would, and without a $25 million buyout, I would imagine. No other industry has such insane buyouts, that I'm aware of.

They pay what the market bears and what the school agrees to. A $2 million salary for a head coach in the SEC West is peanuts. If the guy was successful, he either would renegotiate to make more or he would leave for another university that would pay more.

Crazy money? Sure. But it is what it is.

I'll just leave this here.

Career record against SEC opponents: 33-24. Record vs. Top 10 opponents: 7-14. Record vs. Top 25 opponents: 18-20. . LSU: 2-5, vs. Mississippi State: 4-3, vs. Alabama: 2-4, vs. Georgia: 2-6, vs. Florida: 0-1. What's that equal up to? $7,000,000,000 a year. A man with any moral conviction at all couldn't take that kind of money while producing those numbers.

Clem, 1.5’s still better than what AU is paying.

I say good trade.

All seriousness that’s the kind of guy AU should be looking at.

I agree, that's what the market is. But 95% of coaches will fail. I'd rather save my $15-20 million.

It cracks me up, also, that paying players doesn't get this same treatment. "The market" suddenly becomes "screw you, you already get tuition". That certainly isn't market based.

Oh, I agree. But Gus wouldn't just let Brady or someone like him run it. He's proven that, with Lindsey, and it didn't end well.

All that's changing with the players, "you get tuition!" and whatever. The old guard hates it, NCAA hates it and yet it's going to change. It's happening. It's a liberal mentality - you're not paying the workers but the CEO (coaches) get paid - and at some point the dam's going to break.

I'm an avid Bama fan but there's a lot of truth in this statement. When Saban started there were a lot of really good coaches in the SEC as a whole, most of them in the SEC West. He basically slowly picked them off starting with Fulmer, then Tuberville, etc. Now its almost as if the ADs are just waiting around to see when he will retire before they expect their program to be back to where it was. Let's be honest..... UGA and LSU didn't hire Kirby and Orgeron expecting them to actually compete with Saban….. just to get in the conversation. They're exceeding expectations. Orgeron, Pruett, Malzahn, Mullen, Moorehead and Morris were all lazy hires.

Bama is going to lose the Iron Bowl this year now that Tua is out. I still haven't heard a status on Raekwon or Ruggs either. Honestly I believe it will be double digits because our defense is porous and we just won't have the offense to counter. That will keep Gus around for another couple of years.

Y'all Bammers sound more like average fans every day.

"We're going to lose now!"

"Our defense is young!"

"Rebuilding next year!"

What happened to that invincible faith? No one thinks Mac Jones can do anything? Jake Coker won a natty handing off the ball and hitting a few passes. The UA defense has 10 games under its belt. Or is it still a work in progress like Auburn's offense?

Dang. Never thought I'd see the day when spoiled Bama fans give up hope so easily and quit. It wasn't even like this under Shula. Y'all were sullen but didn't outright quit.

Have you seen Auburn's offense??? It sucks. They couldn't move the ball against LSU. If Bama can put up 25-30 points, they will win.

Unfortunately, Gus will not be fired no matter the outcome of this game.

Mac Jones put up 3 points against MSU.

I like Auburn’s chances.

But Alabama's defense is young and rebuilding. And Mac isn't Tua.

Thus, defeat.

Just take the win, man. They've already given up.

I don't want the win. It gives false hope to the Gus defenders.

Our defense isn't young.... it's full of upper classmen that are all injured so we're stuck with the young ones. We've got a sub-par coordinator who can't adjust to that so we basically have swiss cheese as a result. Our defense has been unable to stop anybody. That's not giving up, that's just reality.

It's not that I believe Mac Jones can't do anything.... he just can't do what Tua can and with the talent our guys have at WR Mac's vanilla playing style will not allow them to capitalize on that ability. Our offensive line has been garbage all year so we're not going to be able to establish the run against Auburn's defensive line which makes us one dimensional on offense. If we score 20 points we'll be extremely lucky.

Finally we had two more huge losses against MSU that no one is talking about.... Ruggs and Raekwon Davis. That eliminates another weapon for Mac Jones and takes away our best defensive lineman.

I'm in no way quitting on my team I'm just being realistic. We will not win the Iron Bowl and we will most likely get beat by two TDs.

do you really think so little of your team that you feel they cant beat Bama's B squad? which is practically what will be taking the field against Auburn

Doesn't matter if Tua, Davis, Dale and Ruggs don't play, if auburn were to beat Bama Gus will probably get a 10 year $80,000,000 contract.
