Troy, I remember you telling us about the prayer thing before - that guy was way out of line. He could join that crazy church in KS that pickets funerals.

The thing about jinxes is that you can never be sure just how they will work. For years I refused to buy a digital scale for weighing turkeys because I feared it could cause a jinx. A couple of years ago, Hal got me to enter the turkey contest on OG so I had to buy one. Sure enough, I had a terrible jinx at the start of the season. I had killed only 1 turkey by the end of March, and had blown a bunch of good chances that could only have happened to somebody that was jinxed. I finally ended the jinx by shooting one out of a tree, then was able to limit out pretty quick. It takes something drastic to get rid of a jinx.

wink

PCP I'm a team roper and I just thought the guys I rope with were bad about jinxs! They wear 2 different color socks and never wear yellow, no hats on the bed and all that stuff! You're worse than they are!

I use a leather strap with loops on both ends.

I bet a leather boot lace would work good.

he is a strange feller, he don't even kill fall hens in TN. Can you believe that?

See, I'm man enough to admit it - I don't like getting blood all over my turkey vest. It doubles as my deer vest, and I like to keep it clean and scent-free. And since I am stout enough to just hold him out away from me and walk along with a 25 lb bird, well, that's what I do.

Real men don't need some kind of sissy strap to carry a turkey. wink

And no, I don't shoot lost baby hens in the fall. I prefer hunting something a little smarter than that; an armadillo qualifies in the "smarter" category. smile

I guess you get off on a technicality since you played the scent card. I like for my britches to smell like dead turkeys.

How many 25 pounders they got down there where you're at? I'd like to try to tote one of those myself.

"real men" would just tell the turkey to go to the truck and I'll be there to ring your neck in a few minutes and not have to worry with carrying it at all. smile

I for one like to get them stinking bloody carcases all over me and have my clothes stinking to high heavens at the end of the season. smile I like it so much I have often thought about sliding on one like a dog does in a fresh cow pile in the summer time just to make sure I get all turkey'ed up. I'm sick like that.
