I washed my harness today. I washed it by hand cause it has metal clips and I don't want it to start to rust. Dose any one wash safety harnesses by hand or use a washing machine?

I have never washed one. Was it noticeably dirty?

ive Never washed one either. Getting it wet won’t make it rust. No difference in washing or it getting wet in the rain

I wash Mine as needed from sweating. Wash and then tumble dry, never had an issue with it rusting.

Never have washed one, sweated through plenty of em though. I’m not as big a believer in a scent control regimen as some though. I suppose you could hose it off air dry then spray with scent eliminator spray if so desired though.

I wash mine in dead down wind detergent and let air dry same as my hunting clothes. I don’t waste my money on all the fad scent control crap, you can go broke on that stuff. I just try and not smell like fru-fru stuff and hunt the wind.

Just make sure it's thoroughly dry IF you store it in an enclosed container. Moisture isn't good on materials.

I’ve done it all. Just sprayed and left outside to dry. Washing machine and dryer etc. Main thing, like said above, make sure it’s dry before storing.

So just to be certain we're on the same page, y'all have machine washed a HSS vest with no problems??? Because for some reason they have warnings all over "DO NOT MACHINE WASH"

My current vest is about 5-6 years old, I hand washed it once maybe last year or the previous, but it needs it again (just to keep scent to a minumum). You are saying I could machine wash it, right?? I would probably air dry it instead of tumble in the dryer though.

On one of my harnesses, I noticed a tag that said “this harness was manufactured on mm/yyyy. Please discard this harness 3 years after manufacture date on mm/yyyy”

The harness is fine, only use it a handful of times each year. Never been ‘used’ or stretched. Do y’all throw them away at the recommended date or roll with it until it needs to go?

After a run in with some poison oak I washed mine with a power washer.
