I’ve never looked into his program, but feel that I’m better with my money than most people my age. So, If his program is good, I’m guessing I probably have some similarities to my money management.

Without me looking his plan up specifically, what are the main driving points of it?

I follow it as close as can. I have a mortgage and that is my only debt. Don’t plan for that to change. I have a 2002 model truck that will need replacing in 2-3 years. I’ll pay cash when it’s replaced to the tune of 30-40k I’m sure. Ole lady will need a vehicle in a few also, will be bought cash also. It’s not easy to steer clear of financing but it’s damn sure rewarding knowing your not stuck in debt up to your eyeballs.

He drives the “baby steps”

You can look up Dave Ramsey baby steps and see the break down,

Basically pay off your debt Smallest to largest debt, it makes sense if you have the income and discipline to pull it off, if I was like James I could look it up and posy the 7 baby steps.. 😀, help me out brotha

All debt regardless of what it is/interest rate is a HUGE problem, forgo your 401K match(FREE MONEY) if you have any debt, invest a measly 15%, credit cards should never be touched regardless of how well one understands finances.

I thought you were the one who was all about using a credit card with the best options and paying it off every month.

Every post I’ve made recently you’ve had a smart ass comment to make, what’s your problem? Or are you trying to be the funny guy, I don’t understand what you are trying to get across.

I think 257's post was in response to AU7MM08's post, not yours.

Exactly what I said. Having small debt is not the end of the world. I don’t have a problem with you. But most of your questions can be answered on google

Dave Ramsey's program is proven to be a good system. Money is emotional, as are important purchases like cars. Most people have more "assets" in their driveway than in their 401k. Total insanity.

Most things discussed on here can realistically be answered on google but I get it..

Ramsey has good general advice, like making a budget and stick to it. He kinda frowns on Real estate investments though which I think is wrong. As with any thing else, people spend money on classes but never follow through.

Lots of equipment can be financed 0% for X years. Why pay for it then?

I owe about $6,000ish on my work car loan, monthly payment is $340 per month.
The interest rate is 2.75%, inflation is at roughly 2%ish depending on who you ask. The realized interest rate is about 0.75%ish.

Dave Ramsey would be screaming at me to make my work car loan a priority, I would tell him lol sure dude.
