I know a few guys that lived in them. Mainly after a divorce. They wasn’t converted to a house tho. I’ve seen that video and many of their others. Good YouTube channel!

I have seen several nice ones. Yoders is now making a 16 wide up to 44 long I saw pics of and it looked more than roomy enough.

I will say the better ones I have seen weren't just one long shed. There was a 14x36 online that someone had take 2 more sheds and added to the back side of it. Sorta made it look like a U shape. iirc they were 14x14 add ons. One was the master bed, and the other was the kitchen and laundry area. Between the U in the back they built a deck in the middle. Was a pretty neat little set up.

I did one for my hunting camp. I bought directly from the Mennonites and had them deliver it for free. I was within a certain mile radius. I turned out pretty good. Took some old barnwood and tin to finish the inside. It’s only 14x30. If wish I’d have done the 34 now but at the time it’s all I could afford.
It’s got a kitchen and bath but no bedroom. I pull out the cots for the kids. I use the fold out couch to sleep. In all it cost me right at 10K to and that’s everything finished. I don’t have pics on my new phone but can get some this weekend.
I also had them put in large windows and plenty of them. Makes it feel bigger than it is and less cave like.

Those seem neat but before I did something like that, I would rather do a barndominum.
The idea of a home being as close to maintenance-free as possible is quite appealing to me.

Too dang tricked out. Seams like a traditional build would have been more cost effective.

Here's a few issues that come to mind when I think about that:

1. I've seen a lot of those "sheds" that weren't built on 16" centers and didn't have traditional corner and wall tee framing in them.
2. What do you do for a crawl space to access pipes, etc...?

I thought about that for our original mini-cabin that we stayed in temporarily while we built the bigger cabin, but in the end it was just easier to frame the mini-cabin up ourselves.

All you are really essentially getting when you buy one of those is a bargain basement version of getting your cabin "blacked in." And blacking in a place in my opinion is the easy part. It's finishing it out that takes all the time. And if the framing and all that is screwed up then you will be cussing the entire time you are finishing it out.

The exposed plumbing is an issue for me. Maybe not in Texas, but I'd never build in Texas. I'd have a slab and do a pole barn with centralized plumbing, then frame it, finish plumbing on internal walls, electrical and insulate.

A busted pipe in a foam sprayed wall sucks. I know that much.

Not really interested in anything put forth by this.

You can definitely build the same structure for a lot less money. This assumes you can do some minor carpenter skills.Of course they have to make money on a product, I would rather build a shed myself and have walls and joist on 16” centers with 8’ walls.
I looked at several that did not have 8’ walls.
