Surely thatās wrong. I had 16 ribeyes cut 1.5ā thick last Monday to feed one of my farmers and his crew at lunch and they were 16-18oz a piece and it only cost $140 for em and 3 packs of conecuh

Looked on their website and prime cut is $17.98lb cut, choice $10.98lb

They damn sure ain't bringing much on the hoof. I sold calves 3 weeks ago and it about made me sick when I saw the check. If/when prices go back up to a decent value I'm out of the cow/calf buisness. Tired of loosing my ass and I don't have enough land around here available to expand to enough head of momma's to make it any better. I can't compete with the row crop folks on land rent either.

so, for you guys that follow the market more who is to blame? meat Packers/processors or the retailers? It ain't the retailers cuz I was one for 10 years and I still no a bunch of owners....i never could figure out who was making the money on beef...but knowing what it cost now to some retailers sams club is making money unless they bought it wrong
