Thank goodness your hunting buddy called me as I was in the process of buying my wma license so I am just probably going to not worry with that mess even if selected again. There are other places to hunt without the hassle.

Thats what everyone did...... They had a special 24 hour only drawing yesterday for those that didnt get selected. They drew today based on that then had an error and having to do a redraw. This is seperate from the first one a month er so ago.

The wma license part i buy anyway every year but a lot of folks got selected (EVERYONE that registered for portland landing on the 31st) so those went n bought wma license just for that hunt lol.

I wouldn't say I'm mad but I probably would be if I bought a WMA license just for an SOA hunt.

But I'm not mad about getting drawn and them re-drawing. If the system "messed up" or whatever, I figure me and the other 342343242343 people that got drawn for Portland landing didn't actually get drawn.

Put me in that crowd of those fools that actually thought that when it said you got selected as a hunter and went through the whole process of accepting it and then went ahead and bought the wma license. Not really pisses or pissed off about it but a little disappointed that it would allow you to go all the way through the process of accepting it if it never was right to begin with.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for a refund if you bought the WMA license.

Wouldn't it be kind of like we have 60 slots and we sent out 130 congrats that the biologist who have to contact them would do the right thing and realize something was a miss? They should have taken the names in turn as they were picked and gave the slots to them and give an extra preference point for the rest, not totally redraw. I would think there would be safeguards for this built into the system. One of the guys on my team got selected for it. I hope he got selected again.

If the real reason for the redraw is because they overdrew, I think the best way to handle it is to redraw from the pool that got drawn and then assure the ones not redrawn on the second draw that they would get a tag next year. They screwed up, not the hunters so it is on DCNR to fix it as fairly as possible, unless of course the real reason for the redraw is some of Chucky's buddies weren't drawn, which will be the popular conspiracy theory.

Total ineptitude from the dcnr and Chuckie. We need some new leadership in the DCNR and in a bad way. This dumbarse is just one dumpster fire after another

This is the update/correction post for those of you who don't do FB.

It is that way in Arizona and probably most of the states. A bonus point for AZ elk, antelope, sheep, Mule deer, and Gould’s turkey cost me $151 for the license until I realized that I couldn’t go if I did get drawn. By oddball luck, I did draw a primo elk archery tag the first time I applied. My number was so low that if I had applied for the most coveted elk tag, the early season rifle, I would have gotten it. I should have bought a lottery ticket that week. The odds would have been similar.

Not to be meaning to mess up your cornflakes this afternoon but you must have lost your liberal minds! That makes it a money grab just like the corn baiting license. MS does it for waterfowl. After 2 years of buying it for me and the boys and no draw...screw that!
They should just get their crap straight!

I still buy the WMA license every year even though I haven't hunted on a WMA in a few years. Guess that makes me a liberal. 😞
