A few deer hunts are re-opened for one day if you didn't get in the first time. Good luck all.

There was an error in the redraw and they're going to have to do it all over again, per the alabama wildlife Facebook page. Said it selected too many hunters

I was suspicious of a computer error when my dad and I were both picked for Cedar Creek 11/18.

Dang. If I bought my wife a management area license for nothing I'm gonna be pissed.

Selected for Portland Landing 10/31. Do they assign you a specific unit on these?

I bet there’s a lot of pissed off folks about now. The AL DCNR sure does goof up a lot on these lottery hunt deals or at least so it seems. You’d think they’d go learn from some of these other states that do draws for multiple units and species on the regular....

Do they run it in the system and then "re-draw" to get specific people the hunts? I'm no conspiracy theorist but just seems kind of ridiculous how often these get "messed up". How much do they pay? Maybe I could get a part time job with them.

Sounds like everyone and their brother got selected for that hunt...

The emotional toll this has taken on me is too great. I deserve compensation in the form of a free lifetime license #metoo

One other thing that I just thought about is I wonder how many people had got drawn as an alternate in the first round then got drawn and accepted a hunt this round because of the screw up thus knocking themselves out of their alternate spot.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah that truly sucks. I’m kinda nervous they’re gonna screw it up somehow for those already selected before the redraw.

How do they notify the public about the redraw? I saw it on Facebook after the fact but you would think they would send a email or something. What a cluster

I bought a hunting license and WMA license after it said I was drawn for Crow Creek 11/1.

I think everyone who applied got email they were selected. Everyone I know of did anyway...and several went ahead and bought wma permits. State racked up today on wma permit sales.

The SOAs are paid for with WMA funding and yet these people are only willing to pay the measly $18 if they actually get to hunt pristine property for three days and aren't willing to invest anything more into said property otherwise? Give me a break. I'm sure it costs more than $18 per hunter to manage these hunts.

I'll say it again, a wma permit should be required to enter SOA draws.

I just checked my wifes registration and it's still showing as "Hunter" for the 11/7 portland landing hunt that was supposedly an error. And we haven't gotten the first correction email, they're just doing updates through facebook. Poor choice on the states part IMO. I feel like their gonna have people show up the day of the hunts that don't know they're not supposed to be there.

I was curious if this was the case or not. Not everyone has Facebook, but everyone who entered would definitely have a email

what a chitshow. running damage control on facebook is like putting out fires with high octane non-ethanol fuel.

the lack of this requirement makes me question the ability of the ALDCNR to do anything effectively.

I was sent another e-mail telling me I didn't get drawn after I was selected but had to purchase a WMA license to be accepted for the draw. It's not about the money but the piss poor management of the process with the draw. I told the guy that it was nothing but theft by deception and he got tore out of frame and told me he wasn't a thief and he would send me a check for the $1.10 out of his pocket. I told him to send it. It's about principle plain and simple. If the ADCNR screws up they think the citizens should eat the mistake they caused at the citizens expense. Let them catch you making a mistake and see how they proceed.

Hunting used to be easy and fun.

Buy a license, make common sense decisions, enjoy, go home or back to camp.

Now, it's a flaming shitshow with continued declining trust, more fees and mandates, and less enjoyment by the declining numbers of people participating.
