They said it all went well but it’s the same injury as last year just the other ankle. That means he’s not going to be 100% the rest of the year and we’re definitely losing to LSU and Auburn is a toss up now. Tua's issue last year was a knee, not the ankle. He didn't hurt the ankle until the UGA game. Tua played against Oklahoma (very well, I might add) about 3 1/2 weeks after having the tightrope procedure. He has 3 weeks before LSU now. Word is that this ankle wasn't nearly as severe as the one back in December, either.

It's odd to me all these bammers have this procedure for high ankle sprains. You never hear about NFL players having it done Then you really don’t know much.

It's odd to me all these bammers have this procedure for high ankle sprains. You never hear about NFL players having it done The Broncos' Emmanuel Sanders had it done this past offseason to correct a nagging ankle problem. Truth is that it's a relatively new procedure. I think there has been even a little controversy surrounding it (ie, why do surgery on something that will heal on its own, albeit on a much longer timeline?). But, I haven't seen anything negative from those who have had it done, including Sanders.

Saban looked like a deflated balloon when he said Tua would be out.... Why wouldn’t you be? He’s the Heisman front runner and has barely seen a 4th quarter this year, he’s the most accurate passer in CFB and will probably be the #1 draft pick

Sanders had an Achilles injury this past offseason. Maybe the procedure can be used for that too? I'm no doctor so I dont know, but the procedure isn't that common in the NFL. Saquon Barkley recently went through a high ankle sprain. He was a candidate for the tightrope surgery and he and his doctors elected to refuse the surgery and let it heal naturally. He had achilles surgery on one foot, and the tightrope surgery done on the other. He had a nagging ankle problem for the last couple of years. He had the tightrope procedure done to clear that up.

Mac Jones will do well vs Arkansas, he just needs reps with the one's & I wouldn't count Bama out vs anyone.

If I remember in the spring game year before last Mac looked better than Tua or Jalen when he was getting similar reps in practice. If he wasn't up to the task Coach wouldn't have him next in line. The defense is young, but getting better, the walk on at punter is looking good, so I'm not too concerned. Will we go undefeated? Maybe not, but we will be in the hunt, just like every year. It's college football. Stuff happens. That's why we watch it.

How good is Tuas brother? I haven't followed to really know much about him
Hopefully he's pretty good if Mac goes down next week.

The kid has one hell of an arm. I was able to watch Him play several games at Thompson. He’s definitely Not much of a scrambler but he can sling the rock.

Not much of a scrambler but he can sling the rock. That's probably a good thing if he's got the same ankle genetics as Tuna

Not much of a scrambler but he can sling the rock. That's probably a good thing if he's got the same ankle genetics as Tuna He's to short to see over the big uglies. Needs to scramble to find passing lanes. Strong arm and can scramble, keep him in the pocket and he is not as good. He won a couple games last year at Thompson running the ball when receivers weren't open. Central shut down him getting outside the pocket in the championship game and destroyed Thompson.
