Might as well just name us The Winners, cause that's what we're going to be. Really though, any name is fine with me. I'm only hunting Bama this year. Lee, Russell and Chambers counties.

How many bow hunt? I'll get my first hunt in Thursday morning hopefully.

I'll bow hunt if I get time. I haven't started my food plots yet so I'll be concentrating on them the next couple of weekends.

I bow hunt but just a weekend warrior. I bow hunt an old farm behind my house and am in a club down the rd in jefferson county but only gun hunt it.

Got out for the 1st time this morning. Saw a couple does and a small buck. Unfortunately I’m in the southern zone and no does for the 1st 10 days. If we’re going to make a run at the win, every member has got to harvest a doe and take the correct pics.

Headed back in the morning for round 2.

Been on the tractor all day again today. Got one more property to plow and plant. Hoping to get it done next Saturday so I can re!ax a little and start hunting sunday. I think I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew on the leases this year.

Dang maybe you’ll get it all done so you can start to enjoy it Sunday.

I went Saturday and had some does come in and feed for about an hour. I was hunting behind my house, and really only try to hunt bucks back there. I don’t have any shooters on camera back there yet this season, maybe something will show up soon. May try the club this next week, if the weather will cooperate

Got everything planted yesterday and I’m a whipped arse today! Thankful for the rain and let’s all hope for good fields!

Thanks guys, this is my first bow buck. I’ve passed some his size Afew years ago, but right now my hunting is limited. And I don’t hunt as good of property as I have in the past. So I’m gonna make the best of it and have fun! I love releasing an arrow on a deer. I’ve killed a pile of does, but it’s been 3 seasons since I’ve let one fly, when this dude come into play this morning, I was pumped to Send it his way!


Also to add! I should get a bonus point also. I May have read it wrong, but it says something like, if the buck has a time of 6” or longer you get a bonus point. I gotta put a tape on it and get a pic to add to post, but I bet one of those g2s are 7” long.

If I read it right my buck should be worth 14 pts

5 for a deer
8 for amount of tines
1 bonus for 6” or longer time!!!

Good going PH. Glad we finally got on the board. I still haven't gotten to go. Did finally get all my places planted but work has put a damper on things now. I'm shooting for maybe next Saturday morning.

Bout 3 weeks before i get kicked off

Went again yesterday seen acouple of does, came in and went on different trail than I was set up on. But still got one more day of bow hunting for me before I break out the boom stick!!!

I haven’t got anything much on camera but we have a bunch of pines on our place, so the deer don’t really hit our land good until all the acorns are gone from neighboring properties. But we got some good looking fields. And some big powerlines to hunt that are fun for gun season.

Just a few does that I run up on out here while on the tractor. I dont run cameras but there is alot of good sign early this year.

I finally got to hunt this morning. Didn't see anything but didn't really care. First trip to the stand is pretty much a test run anyway. Finally starting to get some decent bucks on the cameras, acorns are falling and food plots are growing. I'll piddle with bow hunting another time of two then the real fun starts.

Got us a doe this morning. Back in the tree now looking for a buck that’s been visiting in the daylight the last 4 days.

Awesome! More points, we are off to a good jump start, Maybe I can get us a doe at the club this Saturday morning! Well it’s only a matter of time but maybe it this weekend

He didn’t show today, but he’s in there everyday or night for the last week. Maybe the weekend. Lots of acorns falling in there.

Everything changes when the woods get full. I have a good many does and have only seen one small buck while roaming around in the woods.

I went Friday afternoon Saturday morning Saturday afternoon and this morning. Have seen a truckload of does and yearlings. Had a shooter at 37yds yesterday morning but no clear shot.

That's how it goes. Fairly hot out now though. It's amazing how much a place can change in a year. I'm siting in my good spot now just looking and my stand may need moving or trees cut. It may get better later when all the leaves fall. Lots of sign.

I went yesterday morning. Didn’t see a thing, this morning I just slipped around behind my house, didn’t see much sign... But my cameras show tons of does, idk how I don’t have any bucks here this year.. 3 years ago I had 2 bucks hanging around that were huge and lots of smaller ones... it’s surrounded by houses and pastures... somethings always changing but doesn’t make sense for them to just move out Nd does still be here

gosh I hope soo, afew seasons ago It Was a true honey hole. Seen deer every sit and during the rut there was different bucks in here every week. I was trying to be selective and trying to get a big ten point, and let some nice shooters go. But I never seen the big boy in daylight.

I chased him that whole season and he just didn’t move much across this track of land (only once I knew of) in the daylight... He disappeared on me at end of that season.. I had heard a big one got hit on the rd not far from here and never seen but was just told it was a big 10.

Got him this morning with the muzzleloader. 7pt

Finally seen some deer today... last 3 sits have been busts, Seen 5 does just all too far from the rd or truck.. hopefully gonna get us one soon!

Saw 2 small bucks this morning, nothing this afternoon.

They’re starting to move more here central Alabama. Everyone I talk to have new bucks been showing up on trail cameras in the past few days

When is y’all a rut? Ours is mid to late January carrying over into February.

Usually after christmas the bucks start showing up with good movement by the 2nd week of January on. Yall seen any gooduns yet?

Ours usually is Christmas week and first of January... but man I’d say this is our pre rut and the bucks are on their feet. I haven’t checked my cameras. But all my buddies been seeing and killed afew nice ones this week, that have just showed up on cameras. I’m headed after them the next two mornings...

Haven't posted in a minute but I have been hunting hard. I can't seem to buy a deer at this point. I've been killing hogs and coyotes but the deer just flat out ain't cooperating. Rut on 1 of my leases should start up in the next week or so, then I'll be bouncing around from rut to rut. I've told everyone at work that from now until at least mid January I'll be 4 days a week tops. Maybe I'm just starting slow and will end with a bang.

Been getting my tail kicked so far this year but maybe it’ll change before long. Our rut starts towards end of January over into February

Any luck guys? I’ve got a new 10pt showing up quite often, hopefully our paths cross soon! I still have intentions on getting a doe, the opportunity to shoot one close to the truck hasn’t presented its self here lately..

They're movin but I haven't had time for them lately.

I'm having the same issue. Rut was full swing last 10 days on my Lee County lease and I've had a big end of year push on at work. When I have been able to get a way from work the weather has been horrible. Should be able to take the next few days to get some hunting in though. Hopefully I can catch a lonesome buck still looking for the last available does. If not maybe I can go ahead and get a doe knocked down. Rut on my chambers county place should be soon so I am going to start hitting those spots soon. Merry Christmas guys and good luck.

Has been slow for me. I fished a tournament weekend before last and had family obligations this past weekend and with the rain, I just didn’t spend any time in the woods. Our rut is mid Jan -February. I will be at Lake Okechobee the last week of January fishing the Southern Tegional, so maybe I’ll get an upgrade mid Jan. Merry Christmas to all you guys and your families.

I’m having a slow season soo far, but our heated part of season is about to kick off!

Dang this sucks... we ended up buying a house so I haven’t been able to get in the woods yet. While
Working on the house, I fell through the attic and broke a couple ribs. It could have been worse so I’m very thankful for that, but it’s just gonna be that much longer before I can get in the stand

Finally got lucky. Ruts on pretty hard in Chambers county was able to connect with one chasing a doe. It'll give a good bunch of points to the team.

Still a lot of chasing going on around here so I am t shooting a doe yet but I'll get it done before the season is over. I'll post my buck in the points thread after I get the cape liked up from the processor on monday. Should be able to get an extra point or 2.

Put a tape to my buck from Friday when I picked up the cape today. I thought I could get us an extra point with the spread but he missed it by a hair. 12 points will have to be it. I'll post it up in the points thread in a bit. Good luck erbody.

Fired the rifle today! But not at a deer, I got a coyote, and seen a big hog. The hogs are gonna get it soon enough just couldn’t have gotten him out by myself. I’ve never shot a hog, but I do realize you want to shoot them where you can get a vehicle all the way to it, some of them are huge that’s been showing up on camera

Got my last minute doe this evening. I'll post it up in the points forum in a bit. Hope you guys are having some last minute luck.
