Ive got a stoeger m2000 that ive been huntin with the last 4 or 5 years. Ive always used the factory turkey choke. I was wondering if any of you shot the same gun and had already had done the home work of trying different chokes might give me some advice on which choke shell combo would work the best.

Thanks for any help.

There needs to be a stick note at the top of the page that says for all questions concerning turkey shot and choke questions, visit nitros website

Not every question, just the ones that ask for the BEST combo that you can buy smile You can load better, but they aren't cheaper.

In my Stoeger, I shoot a .655 Jellyhead and use the 3" 1 5/8 oz Hevi 6's and got 170+ in a 10" circle at 40 yds.

Shoot the 3-2-6 or 3" Mag blends in whatever choke the guys on oldgobbler say you should use in that gun with those loads and you'll be tickled pink. I bet the Jellyhead choke that wmd mentioned would do great. You don't gain much, if anything, with the Nitros over the Mag blends except maybe a lighter wallet and a few more smaller than advertised pieces of shot to throw at them to run the pattern numbers up just a little bit. Oh, and you might also damage your gun from the higher pressures. Sounds like they're worth double the money, don't it? grin

Come on jughead might as well put the 7s on the list also.
You bought some for the 20 didn't you?

Yeah, but for whatever reason....I'm skeptic of them past 40 with that lower velocity. I'm sure I worry about nothing though. NO DOUBT he would get the best pattern out of them vs. the other 2 loads I mentioned.

Step one..... find a place with lots of birds that no one hunts.

Yea i learned that last year. No one on his deer club turkey hunts so we had the run of the place. It was like walkin thru the pearly gates compared to the James D martin wma. I really believe those birds have a harvard degree.
