Also I download several videos/audiobooks by Dr Neil Anderson on addiction and listen to them in the tree stand. They helped me a lot

3 1/2 days in. Having headaches and just feel weird. Drinking coffee for caffeine fix. It’s not been easy, but it’s easier than I thought it would be. I may end up having to get an emotional support animal to help me through this. Maybe an emotional support lizard

I kicked all soft drinks about 3 months ago. One thing that helped was the canned carbonated water ak costco. Its Kirklands brand, and it really helps with the craving of a carbonated beverage.

Good job man. If I had quit caffeine too I would have thought the brain funk and headaches were because of that. Apparently Aspartame really is addictive. I had read the negative reports on Aspartame over the years but had always dismissed them as hogwash. Obviously, at least some of that info, not so much....

Oh I have been in a funk for sure. I was drinking the diet ones. Have stopped the Diet Dews also. Just unsweet tea and water right now. It's not easy I promise you.

“In 1985, Monsanto purchased G.D. Searle, the chemical company that held the patent to aspartame, the active ingredient in NutraSweet. Monsanto was apparently untroubled by aspartame’s clouded past, including the report of a 1980 FDA Board of Inquiry, comprised of three independent scientists, which confirmed that it “might induce brain tumors.” The FDA had previously banned aspartame based on this finding, only to have then-Searle Chairman Donald Rumsfeld vow to “call in his markers,” to get it approved. Here’s how it happened:
Ronald Reagan was sworn in as president January 21, 1981. Rumsfeld, while still CEO at Searle, was part of Reagan’s transition team. This team hand-picked Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr., to be the new FDA commissioner. Dr. Hayes, a pharmacologist, had no previous experience with food additives before being appointed director of the FDA. On January 21, 1981, the day after Ronald Reagan’s inauguration, Reagan issued an executive order eliminating the FDA commissioners’ authority to take action and Searle re-applied to the FDA for approval to use aspartame in food sweetener. Hayes, Reagan’s new FDA commissioner, appointed a 5-person Scientific Commission to review the board of inquiry’s decision. It soon became clear that the panel would uphold the ban by a 3-2 decision. So Hayes installed a sixth member on the commission, and the vote became deadlocked. He then personally broke the tie in aspartame’s favor.”
Today is 17 days since I stopped drinking Diet Mt Dew. Today is the first day that I haven’t felt weird or bad.

I ran an emergency call Saturday of a 28 year old black male having chest pains and he claimed he had drank 4 monster drinks a day for a while but use to drink 2 cases a day. I explained to him his heart was racing and he is lucky it hasn't exploded.
It hasn't been very hard to stop drinking them. I thought it would be. I do think Aspartame is probably addictive to some extent. I can assure you there are withdrawal symptoms when you stop ingesting it. I've never drank any of those energy drinks. I can't imagine drinking 4 of them in a day, much less 2 cases of them.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
