Met a guy from Wisconsin today who's into QDMA, actually sells land for Whitetail Properties up there. He swears by burying kiddie pools on his food plots, swears the deer eat them up. Any of yall had luck with doing something similar?

Stagnation would be not so good I would think. Went to a place to shoot qual in autagaville and the guy had poured small concrete troughs for the birds. Just experiments.

I know stagnant water will breed mosquito larvae pretty quick if there's no movement to it at all. He said a little bit of cooking oil in the water should prevent that.

mud is the culprit on midges, not water

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

If it stays dry another few weeks, it's not a bad idea. I'd probably just hunt the natural water sources though. Not many properties in Alabama without a creek or pond closeby.

I’m getting as many pictures on my water buckets than a feeder with roasted c/sb 10’ away. I buried the 30 gal bucket / pale tractor supply sells. I put 10-15 gal in them every weekend

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

We have a 400 acre lease here in FL and all 6 plots have the kiddie pools on them. It is rare to sit and not see deer using them. We have no natural water on the property so it works great

Good thing the majority of my place was a cattle farm 40-50 years ago (before pines and oaks were planted). There are old cow ponds pretty much every 400 yards in any direction.

They make a really good enticement for hogs. I have learned to shoot them with a .223 green tip so they will run off and die and I dont have to wade into the ponds to drag their disgusting nasty arses out, so they dont pollute the water (when they decompose).

I love my country, but don't trust my government.
