I love fishing out of Johns pass. Nice fish. What were y’all using for bait? Just sitting over mitigation area chumming like hell and drifting back live shrimp. Tried some small pin fish for mangos but they dipped out when the sun came up. Had the yellow tails thick about 100 yards back.

Light flouro leader and live shrimp seem to be the bait of choice for snapper in that area these days. Long gone are the days of fish finder rig 2 oz weights and cut cigar minnows

I run 30# braid on a 6500 penn spinner with 12-15 ft of 20 lb flouro a 2/0 circle and a very small split shot about 2 ft up. When we had them thick in the slick I was ahead on strikes 2 to 1.

Doing pretty good for someone allergic to fish! Still remember you having a imprint of a brim on your back in Kimble Lake. Lol
-Matt Lol yessir I had forgotten about that. The wife is no where near allergic so that’s just brownie points laying there.
