Anyone watch the first episode of it last night? Covered from the beginning to 1933. A lot of Jimmie Rogers and the Carter family and the start of the grand ol Opry last night. Looks like it will be an excellent series, if you are a fan of music and old country it should be worth your while. https://www.pbs.org/kenburns/country-music/

Pretty much everything Ken Burns does is fantastic....I'd expect nothing less for this series.

Recorded it and watched it this morning. I really enjoyed it. I've always heard of Jimmy Rodgers but never knew how many songs he had and how many times they have been covered. Of course I knew of the Carter Family because of their lineage.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'm going to have to watch it for sure. My Grandfather owned a gas station in Selma back in the 40s and 50s. Where Selma trophy used to be. One day Hank Williams stopped in. My Grandmother held Hank Jr. My Grandfather, being from Georgianna, knew him pretty well from what I been told.

My Grandmother held Hank Jr. My Grandfather, being from Georgianna, knew him pretty well from what I been told. Hank Sr. has a woman in town that was his cousin. They were very close. She still speaks to Jr. on a regular basis. If you saw her you would see a very strong family resemblance , to Sr, not Jr. thank goodness. When I was a young single police officer after my parents had moved back to AZ, the family always invited me to Thanksgiving. Jr. called one of the times I was there.

I wasn't going to say anything but Hank Jr was an ugly baby and he never recovered. It is a small world though.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Man no kidding. I went out to my dad's to work on my old Ford and ended up sitting on the couch watching the episode. Incredible work as usual by Ken Burns. Hate I missed last night now. I saw that one day, I think Sunday, they are going to replay all of them.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
