My local Co Op has a 3way, 4way, 5way blends. Anybody used them? Mostly wheat, oats, and rye. Any info is appreciated.

You'll come out a lot cheaper just buying bags of wheat, oats and rye and planting that.

I don't know what variety of oats are in the mixes but if it's Bob Oats, they aren't cold hardy, at all. They sure won't live all winter up here.

most of that stuff is well over 60% wheat with some oats and rye throwd in we got to where we just plant rye and oats drag and over seed with radishes and turnips.

The mix I used to buy from the co-op was the orange tag mix. It was mostly cereal rye,wheat,oats. It also had crimson clover,turnips,and rape. It may have had radish in it too. It planted 1/2 acre and was only $20, so unless you have a lot of acreage to plant, that's not bad at all. Cereal rye is around $20 per 50lb bag.

I always buy a bag of winter peas & a bag of feed oats for my plot but this time while at the co-OP in Jacksonville I bought 2 bags of their 7 way mix. It had a good variety of peas & other grains so we will see how that works.

Here is the list I got from the coop you mentioned. We’re gonna use the 5 way mix, and add about 2 lbs of turnips to each bag

I'm thinking about putting some rutabagas in a plot to see how they do, I don't know if deer will eat them, but I like them better than turnips.

deer will tear up some cherry bell radishes we planted them along with other radishes and turnips in the garden they destroyed the cherry bells we started using them in our food plots
