I have had a bottle of Blackhorn 209 in my garage for 4 years. Haven't used it since 2015.

I'm powder-stupid. Should I give it a whirl or toss it for fresh?

Probably fine if cap has been on tight. Smell it and get a little out and see if it lights off. Make sure it doesn't smell bad.

I'd definitely try it before I put any trust in it. BH209 is a finicky powder. I always add a bit of trip7 to my loads to ensure ignition

I had a muzzleloader loaded for almost a year and it fired fine. sample size of 1. I do like the BH209.

As long as it doesn't experience wide temperature swings it should be ok.

Checked the bottle -- should've done this first -- and it was still sealed. Win. Thanks for the replies and good shooting.
