My next purchase is gonna be a reloader. I hope not,but I think we all may need one in the future.
I have 0 experience with them so any input on good, bad or ugly would be appreciated.
I've been looking at & kinda liking the Hornady lock & load progressive machine.

Ima what calibers? How much ammo you wanta make? I started on a single stage then graduated to Dillon 550B. Standard advice of reading reloading manuals looking at videos asking questions applies.

Rifle cartridges single stage is all you really need I can load plenty fast enough on a single stage press
Pistol ammo up to 223 a progressive is fun kind of a pain to get set up if you change calibers alot but once it's right it will definitely spit them out
I use my Dillion to load 45 everything else I load on my rcbs
And get with someone that has some experience in reloading and them teach you that will help with the learning curve tremendously

I would like to be able to do .223/.556,.300 bo,.380auto,.44 mag,.45 acp,.308,7mm Rem mag. Not sure on how many, but I do have plenty of brass for the ones I listed.

Make your loading room bigger than what you think you need.Start a second job or marry up. The pistol&revolvers are easy to feed get 231,unique/universal H110 for those. Varget for the .308 and a slow burner for the big 7.

I’m pretty loyal to RCBS. Good stuff and customer service is second none. I bought two Hornady dies (234 and 308) and sent them both back and go RCBS.

Starting out, it doesn't get any better than a RCBS rockchucker kit.

Another vote for the RCBS kit. That will do all you want for now. Single stage will teach you all the nuances of loading so that if you ever decide to go progressive you will have much less of a learning curve. One thing you will need to add that is not included in that kit is a case trimmer. I would also add a powderr trickler.

There are all kinds of gadgets and doodads for loading, but get the basics and you will be set. One thing I would mention to is don't look into it as a money saver. But you will be able to make premium loads for less than half of the price of factory rounds. Go ahead an buy good equipment (such as the RCBS). Lee, Lyman, etc. all make some decent stuff but it's not the quality of RCBS. Spend the extra money. If you absolutely hate reloading, you will not have much problem getting your money out of it.

Best to start out on single stage and learn how it all works .read several different companies reloading manuals to have a well rounded understanding.then decide to stay single stage or go progressive depending if quality or quantity is more important.also another vote for rock chucker press still the most precise yet affordable press

You can have both quality&quantity on a Dillon. Gunwerks outta Wyoming loads their ammo on Dillons.Every top ipsc/idpa competior? Yup the Blue brand. Sure starting out nothing wrong with a single stage....it's just S..L...O......W.

I have a Dillon 650 and a RCBS Rockchucker. I end up doing most rifle rounds on the Rockchucker. Chargemaster lite is a dang handy tool to have. Once you get started it gets addicting.

Thanks for all the input!
I'm still trying to decide on what to get.
My wife says I'm the Worlds Greatest procrastinator...lol

Any opinions on the RCBS Explorer plus kit? I'm kinda favoring it over the Rock Chucker kit.
It has a few other tools included--a digital powder scale,a powder dispenser stand, a powder trickler, a metal dial caliper & few others.
The press doesn't look quite as well made as the Rock Chucker though.

Get the rockchucker because a GOOD press will last a lifetime. Buy the other stuff as you grow.
