We need to be getting folks involved in hunting. A friend of mine reminded me of this today. It is imperative that we have these programs in Alabama that support our heritage.

We got too many hunters already.
Im encouraging kids to take up golf and video games.
Hunting needs a break.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Wouldn't it be great to be the only hunter in your own county! Especially during turkey season.

I certainly would NOT support this program or anything DCNR as long as Chuck Sykes is employed there and encourage others to do the same. If you want to mentor a kid you can do it yourself or if In club encourage the group to take on a few kids. Or maybe have a weekend or two to bring in a few disabled veterans.

If we don’t get more 20 and 30 year olds mentored our heritage will be lost before the few kids that aren’t gender confused or anti-American become hunting/voting adults.

Agreed. Even though I have plenty of private land to hunt, I hunt a lot of public land as well. I'm not seeing many 20-30 year old folks at all. It's mainly cranky old farts like outback.....and they are becoming few and far between.

That's good news. I wish more people would quit hunting.

I’ve taken people hunting before. But the idea of a state-sanctioned program is not something I’d be interested in.

I am like the others. I won't support a state supported program. I have taken a lot of folks hunting and don't mind doing on my own. I choose who want to ask, not the state picking some wack job.

Any state agency that would put an idiot like Chuck Sykes in charge of anything doesn't deserve public respect.

Chuck's a great guy. Instead of trying to bash people we need to be lifting everyone up and doing something positive.

I'm doing something positive, bringing attention to the idiot they put in charge.

I totally agree with that. I’ll do my own evaluation of a potential hunter that I take to my personal hunting land.

I think the Mentor Hunts happen on different WMA's. I could be wrong.

I'm going to be honest, I've got to know a person pretty well before I'll invite them to spend some time in the woods, alone, with a gun, with me beers
