Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this wet spot? I can see the over flow pipe but I’m not sure if it’s from the heating and AC unit or my washer/dryer. Whatever it is can I fix it and how?

More than likely it is from your AC.

If it’s from the AC is that normal?

Yes - it is normal. As the air passes across the coils - the humidity es extracted as condensation and drips into a pan, then it is either diverted outside or into the plumbing drains.

You will want to purchase some chlorine tablets and put them in your AC drain pan periodically (I do it every few months or whatever the bottle says) to ensure that they are kept clean. In the Winter, when the heat is running - it will be dry.

One other note - it could also be coming from your water heater pan. Check your water heater and make sure it is not leaking into the pan.

Thanks! It seems like a lot of water so I didn’t know if I I had a busted pipe or something. You’re correct, it is dry I’m the winter time. I’ll get some chlorine tablets and give that a shot.

if it recently started dripping, check your main a/c drain for clogs. at our old house our main was clogged and it all went into the secondary drain pan and then outside the house (big, rectangle/square galvanized or plastic pan below unit in attic). I "think" the main drain went through the gray water drain with the washing machine drainage.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I would get some more pipe and run it away from your foundation.

run it a foot or so over from the gas lines and dig a hole with post hole diggers and fill with gravel so it drips into the hole and absorbs into the subsoil instead of running across the yard

Could also be from your water heater pressure relief valve. If water is dripping from the pipe, feel of it to see if it's cool or hot. If it's hot, it's the water heater PRV
