Looking at picking up a youth semiautomatic 20 gauge. Was wanting an 11-87 Compact but they’ve obviously been discontinued again and have disappeared in the last few weeks. That being said I’ve turned my attention towards the Mossberg SA-20 Bantam, Tristar Viper G2 Youth and Weatherby SA-08. I believe these are all Turkish imports and pretty much the exact same guns internally? Looking for real world use experience and if either “brand” is more beneficial than the other in this instance. I’ve tried to locate as many reviews as I can online but there aren’t a whole lot, except for Buffalo’s Outdoors YouTube videos on the Tristar.

Wanting to know mostly about quality longevity and parts availability on each. Would like to be able to pick up a standard LOP stock for whichever in interchange with the youth LOP stock, if this would be an option.

A friend bought the TriStar for his daughter in law. Never fed right.

I would do my best to find out how the warranty works on all of them. If I could get one or the other locally and they told me they would take care of sending it back under warranty that is the one I would buy.

Yeah they are all the same gun. However, they each have varying levels of quality specified by each manufacturer. The Mossy is more refined than the Tri Star and the Weatherby even more than the Mossy. I have dealt with Mossberg's warranty, on one of their 930 SA 12 ga guns and they took care of it. I've never dealt with Tri Star or Weatherby

There are two types of gun enthusiasts ... Those who have been F#CKED by PTG and those who will be!

I've HEARD that the SA-08 was a good gun. It was talked up pretty good on the shotgun forums a few years ago but I have no experience with it. Heard Weatherby took care of you too. That's where I might talk to a local Weatherby dealer and get his perspective though.

Academy had a killer deal on ATA shotguns that ended Saturday, I believe. Buy a 12ga and get a youth 20ga for $100. Both semi auto. Total was about $650 out the door

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
