To make it short I have a three year old white oak that I planted when found it I was having a daughter. It has been in a pot growing since that time. I am wanting to put it in the ground at home along with a sawtooth oak I have also got in a pot. My question is when to I need to plant it and what do I need to do to give it the best change of survival. The white oak of course is sentimental and would like for it to have the best change to make it. Thanks for the info.

put a tree tube on em to protect em. I plant trees in Jan for best results.

Thanks guys. I have a two acre back yard so plenty of area for them to grow. I am planning on getting some more sawtooth acorns this year and plant a few more. Last question. Since they have been pot grown should I tie them to a stake till they take hold of just leave them around the tube like pawpaw troy suggested.

Easiest way to plant sawtooth is to push an inch deep hole in the ground and drop one in it. Step on the hole and mash hard with your foot. Very hardy trees and I have planted literally thousands of them this way.
