I've had both and my 5075e with a loader is the most versatile tractor I've owend. The kubota had a smaller fuel tank and drank fuel if you ran at higher rpms compared to the deere. Also it didn't have the ass the deere does either when it comes to running a tree cutter or a heavy brown disc. I am a big deere fan as I own 3 JD tractors and there's a reason for that they are the best and my 5075e is the most used and borrowed tractor I have. Its not a top end bells and whistles tactor like the m sieries but its perfect for plots and work. Mine is a 2009 I bought new and has been a little work horse that I can't do with out. Also resale is a blow out with the deere if you ever wanted to upgrade down the road. Call one of the sun south dealers in South alabama and ask about a peanut rental 5075e you'll save some money buying a new tractor with a few hours on it through the program if they still do it.

And don't forget to carry a whole lot of extra money. smile

But you can get a real 75 hp tractor with the M. Since you are comparing 2 tractors from a lease program, you are gonna save a lot compared to a new one and will probably be better off. I bought a 5075e in 2012, and nearly all the problems I've had with it were due to the dealer installation of an extra hyd line. Once those were solved, it's been a very solid tractor. Yours would have more of the EPA junk, but the Kubota will have it too, and all those initial problems that many seem to have will already be solved while on lease.

I have no experience with that size Kubota, so I can't make a comparison. But I can say that I think the JD is a solid tractor. The 5000e series doesn't have the bells and whistles of higher models, but I look at it as fewer things to tear up.

But to your point pcp inventory on 100hp and less tractors is out there today. A man can be patient and find upper series like the M right just gotta look

I recently did a survey and 9 out of 10 big bucks prefer plots planted by a green tractor. The other buck voted for Hilary, was wearing a rainbow t-shirt, watches CNN daily, wants to be put in a big pen in Ghina🇨🇳 and ain't a fan of gun rights. He liked the orange tractor.

I’m jumping the fence on this one. I’m buying the KUBOTA M4. It’s an awesome tractor. Everyone I know who has a new johndeere is not happy. My opinion anything older than 2014 stick with johndeere but new stuff I’m happier with KUBOTA

It is definently a hard decision and can probably be debated on forever just like Ford vs Chevrolet but in the end it comes down to what each person likes. For me I'm leaning more towards the Kubota just because I currently have a 2016 kubota MX4800 and am probably gonna be trading it in if I cant sell it. As far as the quality of kubota I'm happy with it since I've not had a minutes trouble out of it but have never owned a John Deere. I do know that my wife's uncle had a kubota M6800 and I was amazed with some of the things I saw him do with a root rake hooked to the front of that tractor and honestly would have never tried some of the things I saw him do with it but he never had a minutes trouble out of it other than a busted steel hydraulic line right after he bought it but he called his dealer and they came out the next day and replaced it free of charge. In the end I really need to go drive and get some measurements from both because I really do not wanna get rid of my Browns disc that is basically new and from the looks the JD would be too wide for it and wouldn't cover my tracks but the M6060 I looked at didnt seem to be as wide due to the rear tires being a different style than the JD which were not as big or aggressive but were still the R1 type tire.

You know that 5075 has reversible hubs right? The dealer can narrow it up to 30” rows for you. I wouldn’t want that narrow kubota. It’s gonna beat you to death. Must kubotas do not come with air ride seats. You better ask for em in either one you get

10-4 thanks for letting me know. Another question I have is about getting a quick hitch for whatever I end up buying. From what I've seen they seem to be pretty nice and make life a whole lot easier when swapping implements but say I get a land pride which is made for kubota will I be able to use it with any 3 point implement or will it only work with a Land Pride brand implement? I've read some reviews that said they will work with all and I've read others that have said just the opposite and really wanna make sure before I spend the money on one since everything I've got is a different brand.

I had a cat 2 speedco QH on my 6040 kubota. It’s now on my 5100M Deere. Def get you a quickhitch and with fender 3 pt hitch control hookup is a cinch.

Will your quick hitch work with all implements cat 1 and 2 as long as you have bushings for the pins when hooking up to cat 1?

As long as the cat 1 implement accounts for the width of the cat 2 quick hitch. That’s the only issue I’ve had.

I have a 04 Kubota M6800 (predecessor to the 7040) and a 2011 JD 5065e. The JD is heavier and does do a better job with breaking ground. The Kubota runs quieter, smoother, and slightly better fuel consumption. Both machines have 800-1000 hrs on them and my JD has had more issues (all electrical). Also my JD is having hardware backing out, specifically the exhaust heat shield hardware and the coolant overflow mounting hardware. A year ago I thought they were both fairly equal, but now I am leaning towards the Kubota being better built.

I must say that neither one has had any major issues, no leaks, and still function like the day I got them.

In my opinion that M6800 is one tough tractor. That is what my wife's uncle used to have and he sold it when he sold his house and all his land in the country and moved to the city and I was an idiot for not buying it then for what he was asking for it. I watched him do things with that tractor that I would not have attempted with anything less than a bull dozer and he never broke anything on it and he actually cleared the lot with it that his house sat on.
