He is in 7th so starting at the bottom on I guess the junior level. We’re fishing the airport marine trail. Start September 15 at Neely Henry.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

My buddy catches more bass on a crappie jig then lots of bass fisherman do on their best day. There have been days he’s caught 40 and some as big as 5#s.

Watch for schooling bass! Your son can fill a limit in no time if you get on the bait with active fish. Throw a heavy bait like a spoon, blade bait, trap, jig/grub so he can make a long cast when you see them come up. Watch for pods of bait on your electronics. This time of year through winter the bass will be following the bait.

Shaky head with a trick worm is a great go-to for a high school angler. Buckeye Lures Spot Remover with a Yum Black Trick Worm. Might not get the big bites but it can definitely help fill a limit if conditions are tough. When my son first started tournament fishing that is about all he'd throw. It's good for building their confidence on the water - which to me is one of the most important things for a boat captain. Ya'll are in for a lot of fun days and great memories. I hope your son has an awesome first season! Airport Marine is an excellent high school trail. It will be managed by different people this year, but if it's anything like how Flynn Gerald ran the tournaments it'll be a great (and very well-run) experience for the kids.

Shakeyhead or drop shot with a black trick worm will catch fish anywhere you go. I like a 3/16th oz spot remover and drop shot weight. Itll catch big ones too

We will burn that bridge when we get there

The 3" "stinger" type of bait that I posted a link to is awesome
