This is interesting, and I had not seen this until reading about it here. Sabon is a wonderful typeface and one I have used for years. I especially enjoy the work of the fellow who designed Sabon, Jan Tschichold. Though, I don’t think it will translate well at all for uniforms, especially the player numbers. The 6 is especially problematic. For me, it just does not have that “collegiate letter feel.”

I looked at the comparison of the two AU logos. I am not a fan of the new proposed design. Doubt it will be a popular move with the fans if they try to make the change. Hate to say this, but I hope this effort falls flat on its face. Too bad the effort put into this wasn’t spent elsewhere. Like coaching.

Sabon is what all these bammers will rename their kids to when he leaves them to coach elsewhere
