If you had to pick three seed types for a foodplot what would you choose?

We typically do Wheat, oats, rye, AWP and either clover or brassica. If I had to narrow down to three it would probably be rye (grain), clover and brassicas.

Cereal rye/wheat and crimson clover for a fall plot. Maybe chicory as the third. We haven’t had much luck with brassicas, but hope to plant some earlier this fall.

Oats, rye and clover are the foundation for my mix.

Marshall rye, and crimson clover only two I’d need. Has worked for years for a fall/winter plot works great for turkeys not the spring as well. Easy to plant, and thrives. Just what works for me at my house on my land. Now hunting club I just go along with the other guys. You know that record each chit, since we’re trying to grow deer in the winter and all. Lmao.

I love brassicas. Going to try some diakon radish this year.

Try the sodbuster over the daikons.

Oats, Trticale, Rye with Forage Radish and about 4 different clovers.

Triticale, grain rye and crimson clover. Those are the best performers for me.

Black Oats, Triticale and Coker Oats, Worked great for us last year. I used to use a 4 or 5 way. Last year spend the extra for Premium seed. Wont go back.

Feed oats ,,,,, seed wheat ,,,,, red top

Nothing with a deer on the bag

Rye, rape and clover/turnips/radishes or some thing that looks good on the bag.

Triticale, oats, berseem clover

I mean in an acre or so food plot I like oats, rye, and winter peas preferably whistler or frost master rather than austrian. If needing a 4th seed then I would go Crimson. If smaller than an acre I go oats, rye, an crimson clover. If in a shade I plant sodbuster radish, turnips, and rape in mid to early september. Then I come in and fill spots with some rye. I do try and plant the same thing in every plot on a property so they all have the same attractiveness.

I wouldn't put just three, I like putting cereal rye, wheat, oats, yucchi clover, crimson clover, rape, radish, turnips, and some durana for the spring. Pennington rackmaster elite has most all of these and is sold at a local store. Yes it has a picture of a deer on the bag, but i'm only planting 3 acres. It's premium seed that is coated.

If I had to plant ryegrass, I would not plant. Oh, ryegrass "LOOKS" great, but... anyway.

Triticale, RyeGRAIN, Frosty Berseem clover... if I only could list three.

WMS blends would be my choice. Deer Magnet followed by Alabama Blend

Soybeans, corn, peanuts

Oats, clover, and brassicas. We've had good luck with this combo. Certain fields, the brassicas take over and the deer feed on them heavily, way before any frost. They put out tons of biomass. Usually, by the end of the season, they have most of the brassicas eaten, then the other will grow. I like the clover more for the spring benefits.
