I have an opportunity for the right person on my personal lease located in Pulaski County Illinois. The land consist of 385 acres which is enrolled in pollinator program. The rest of the property is big mature hardwoods. The property also has 1 nice lake and two smaller ponds. I also have two food plots on the property. This farm is becoming thick in places due to the pollinator program not allowing any mowing until year 5. This is the 2nd year into the program and will only get thicker and hold more deer. The neighbors property has row crop on two sides of this farm and lack the cover my farm offers. The deer live on me most of the time and as things get thicker it should only get better for those old mature deer seeking thick cover to hold up in. This farm has produced some very nice deer over the years.
This opportunity is for full season rights of all game. The cost is $2500 for the season which includes insurance and the cost of planting. I do my own food plot work with my personal equipment. There will be no more than 4 people on the lease. My long time lease partner will only bow hunt and my other partner only gun hunts. I will do both but will be at work during the second gun season. Under these circumstances there will be no more than 3 people on the farm at any given time and the second gun season will be less.
I can possibly offer a place to stay during archery season but gun season is a big unknown. We have a core group that shares the camp and our bed space is limited during this time frame. It is possible we will have a bed available but not a guarantee. I would like that understood as lodging is not included but I will work with anyone that decides to join as much as possible. There is some local lodging available near the farm but availability is limited during gun season so booking a room asap for those date would be best advised. Also I would like it understood if one choose to use the camp its nothing fancy at all. it meets the basic needs of place to get some sleep, with central heat/air and a shower. We do have a microwave, refrigerator and small chest freezer. We eat out while in camp but will grill occasions.
Due to the person that spoke for this spot months ago and has yet to pay, I will not hold this spot for anyone. If you commit you will have a very small window of time to get money in my hand. I hate to be that way but I have learned a mans word means little in the world we now live in. It's a crying shame grown men can't honor their word, but unfortunately its more the norm than the exception.
I will be glad to share information on individual bases if seriously interested. Shoot me a PM with your number and a good time to contact you and we can talk,
Mike

Sounds like a heck of a deal, I wish I could do something like that, but my wife's health isn't real good. Out of curiosity, what is a "polinator" program? The pollinator program consists of legumes and various types of flowers for honey bees. Apparently the state of Illinois pays land owners a substantial amount of money annually to enroll their property into this program. It’s beneficial to a lot of wildlife because a lot of what they plant is highly nutritious. My buddy was up spraying our food plots a couple weeks ago and said the clover had leaves almost big as half dollar. He said clover was everywhere so the deer have had plenty of good forage all summer long. There should be some very nice deer on this farm this fall.

The spot is spoken for. If something changes with current path forward I’ll update this thread.
