Last night I finally caught the hog that had been digging up my yard in a corral trap made of three 16 foot cattle panels. My cell phone alerted me after midnight and I should have immediately dispatched him because he got out. Apprarently he climbed the panels or the gate.
The trap was totally intact and there is no other explanation. Has anyone else had one climb out?

Saw a 350 lb boar jump over a 5’ panel as gracefully as any deer

I have seen a 200 pound boar go over a cattle panel. Also saw a 225# boat go THRU a chain link fence at full throttle, blasted a hole in that fence.

4 foot cattle panels I think. He has escaped the same trap twice. Sucker for out of date honey buns.

I have the door wired open until I figure out how to keep him in. He has been back in the trap twice since escaping - eating pastries.

I'm tuned in. Let us know if you can snag him again. Hope you bust him.

Just go kill him right when you catch him instead of staying in bed

I had a boar around 200 lbs coming to a trap last summer. I caught him 5 times. Five times he cleared 60 inches. I could see the blood on the tops of the panels where it cut him going over. After the 5th time, I waited on him to come back and when he did. I went straight to the trap and shot him with a thermal. Enough was enough. LOL

It is rare that one can clear 60 inches.

But, if they go over easy, they will normally come back.

Good to know. Caught a 150-ish boar last night running by himself. Only hog to show in a week. Moved trap today where I have pictures of some beasts. But, verizon is down in that area do I just set panels up. We'll see...

Need location of trap. I don't believe honey buns can go out of date!

LOL. He and friend are coming in to the trap every night. They love the sweets. I just haven't gotten around to adding height or a ceiling to the trap. Plan to in a few days.

I hunt the back of a cattle farm. I watch them jump a 4 ft barbed wire fence with ease all the time.
